Sr. Project Manager eCommerce

This requirement is for a Technical Hands-On Project Manager position at a leading Retailer based out of California. The requirement is for a seasoned Project Manager on Agile who has technical experience understanding Technology Platforms.

The position can be remote but preferably in the Bay Area

Detailed Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Candidate must be technical and hands on to understand development efforts and call out risks, dependencies, dev efforts etc.

Candidates should have extensive experience managing and launching large-scale technology projects and be comfortable with business case analysis, business process documentation, requirements gathering, and project management.

Support all project administration & coordination

Coordinates management of project artifacts

Maintains & updates project artifacts.

Documents and tracks lessons learned / project review.

Coordinates & supports project meeting & events.

Supports/ updates project reporting/ dashboards.

Supports & coordinates project on-boarding & off-boarding of team members.

Supports follow-ups as desired by the supervisor.

Works with PM to learn the core PM methodologies & project management tasks – (for example, resource management, working with team members on defining deliverables and project activities, analysis, estimations, change management, purchases and payment, budget, reporting)

With guidance, works on problems of limited scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

Manage small project(s)

Exercises some judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Decisions impact the program/unit quality and efficiency. Impact typically limited to one or two departments. Errors generally recoverable; temporary in nature

Interacts with functional peers and supervisors, normally involving basic matters within the department or company.

Begins to build productive internal/external working relationships.

Receives detailed instruction on routine work, new projects, or assignments.

Work is performed on most assignments with structured oversight and mentoring by manager or a higher-level project manager.

Using established project management methodology/tools, works with team to develop and maintain project artifacts. Handles projects of moderate complexity/risk, which include work planning tools, budgets, resource roles, and deliverables.

Performs variance analysis on value, quality, and constraints – scope, schedule, budget.

Works with team to identify risks/issues, escalates as appropriate, and manages them to resolution.

Provides input on project policy, procedures and standards.

Communicates project background to new team members.

Facilitates quality planning, quality assurance reviews, and quality control monitoring.

Responsible for SDLC, SOX, financial compliance, monitoring, communicating statuses & issues.

Works with necessary parties to remove team impediments.

Works with Resource Managers to obtain/ manage resources to meet necessary team goals.

Plans, monitors, and tracks delivery of quality control and takes corrective action as appropriate.

Communicates project information to all project team members, sponsors, vendors and IT managers, as appropriate.

Understands steps in evaluating products/applications/vendor services and goals of the project

Works on moderately complex projects with some guidance from more senior staff members on complex projects

Works with appropriate associates/management to address resource, budget, scope constraints

Good understanding of project budget, ability to manage project budget, provide updates, and reforecast monthly

Develop and maintain project documentation as necessary to meet goals

Works with team to identify and address issues and risks

Timely escalation of critical issues/risks to program manager and management

Frequently interacts with functional peers and supervisors, normally involving matters within the department, or internal customers

Builds productive internal/external working relationships.

Meets, and periodically exceeds, customer service expectations through project success as well as ongoing interaction

Gathers team feedback and works to identify and remove barriers that are impeding project

Meet with Program Manager to discuss strategy and keep apprised of progress

Coordinates and facilitates meetings to resolve difficult project issues and mitigate identified risks

Interprets and exchanges moderately complex technical/professional information

Builds consensus, collaborates, and acknowledges contributions of team members and other support staff

Provides leadership and encourages teamwork within assigned project teams

If performing ongoing retrospectives, coordinates, and monitors teams’ continuous improvement efforts

Receives general supervision on day-to-day work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments

Works with manager to produce the strategy in solving problems.
